Katie Groom is Professor of Maternal and Perinatal Health at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland and a Subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at National Women’s Health, Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai, Auckland City Hospital, Aotearoa New Zealand.

She has had several leadership roles in clinical trials networks including the ON TRACK Network, the PSANZ IMPACT Network and ACTA. Her research includes the investigation of therapies for the prevention and treatment of the major complications of pregnancy including fetal growth restriction, preeclampsia and preterm birth. She has been the Chief Investigator of international clinical trials including the STRIDER NZAus trial and is currently leading the C*STEROID Trial. She is passionate about preterm birth and equity in access to care and outcomes and is the Chairperson of the Aotearoa national transdisciplinary group, the Carosika Collaborative.
